Hi Reader

Here's a quick roundup of the grooming tools and supplies I reviewed in October and November (2025) on ShavingAdvisor.com and the YouTube Channel.

I do apologize for not sending the October quick roundup. So much to focus on at Shaving Advisor, and getting the reviews out was the priority.

If you're thinking about upgrading or trying something new, these summaries might help you decide what's worth checking out and what's not.

The quick links below show what has been used and reviewed, and below them will provide an overview.

Philips Head Shaver Pro 9000 Review: Is the Top Rotary Brand Now the King of Bald? (Reviewed by Jason)

The Philips Head Shaver Pro 9000 was a very similar experience to the brand of head shavers I have used and reviewed, Skull Shaver. However, a big reason it kind of tops them is the reassurance of a brand that responds to customers and adheres to its return policy.

While the design is a little taller than some, and it uses a proprietary USB cable, the performance and the peace of mind from the Philips warranty make this a top-tier contender that is genuinely competing with the established “best in class” head shavers.

Philips (Norelco) Beard Trimmer 7000 Series Review – A New Iteration (Reviewed by Robert)

Philips brings us another high-quality trimmer (Philips Norelco Beard Trimmer 7000 Series) and attempts to iterate on the classic beard-trimmer design with new options. Unfortunately, some of those new options are more trouble than they are worth.

The Philips (Norelco) 9000 Prestige ranked at the top in my best beard trimmers roundup. However, this 7000 does not come close to the 9000 Prestige in terms of design or performance.

I would say the Philips Norelco Series 7000 is a pretty damn good trimmer for any guy, but especially guys looking to upgrade to the next level of beard care. Say you are rocking something like the Panasonic ER240, then this would be a more than worthy upgrade to something more serious without breaking the bank.

Manscaped Beard Shampoo Review – Serviceable at Best (Reviewed by Robert)

Manscaped brings us a Beard Shampoo with a thin, yet clean-feeling lather that leaves my beard feeling nice and soothed. Unfortunately, it is let down by a dense ingredient list and a smell that is a major turn-off.

If you are looking for an inexpensive option for a dedicated Beard Shampoo, then you would do much worse than Manscaped Beard Shampoo. However, if you have sensitive skin or a sensitive nose, I would definitely recommend something better, like Scotch Porter Beard Wash.

Manscaped Beard Oil Review – Serviceable Oil, But That Scent! (Reviewed by Robert)

Manscaped offers a beard oil that does an adequate job of keeping my beard well-protected. However, it comes with a horrendous smell that makes me want to wash it off the moment I put it on.

Honestly, because of the scent, I would say this beard oil is best for no one; it smells that awful. However, discounting that, I would say it is good for guys who need long-lasting protection for their beard and their skin.

Philips i9000 (X9000) Review – More Affordable Model In The i9000 Lineup (Reviewed by Jason)

The X90xx models from the i9000 lineup are more in line with the previous Series 9000 shavers in terms of features and design, plus cost. We get the same shaver head as the other i9000 models (i.e, Prestige and Ultra), but not quite the same top-end performance — as expected with its lower cost.

Philips has positioned this shaver correctly—it provides a great rotary shave at a much more accessible price point. If you’re looking for high-end features and closeness without the top-tier cost of the Prestige models, the X9000 is a good choice.

Skull Shaver Pitbull Silver Pro SX5 Review – Upgraded Version (Reviewed by Jason)

The SX5 is the 2025 upgraded version of the Pitbull Silver Pro that has a couple of additional features and benefits over the previous version. It is among the best head shavers I have used, and it could be worth putting on your list of head shavers to compare before purchasing if you are in comparison mode at the moment.

Every Man Jack Aged Bourbon Beard Oil Review – Smooth Finish and Sweet Aroma (Reviewed by Robert)

Every Man Jack brings us another finely crafted beard oil with a signature bourbon aroma. It has a light texture that lasts throughout the day. You don't need to worry about feeling the oil on your face all day, yet you might want to warn anyone you are close to that you haven’t been drinking.

Who is this for? EVERYONE!

Every Man Jack Aged Bourbon Beard Wash Review – Refreshing Clean, and Old Time Aroma (Reviewed by Robert)

Clean Feeling with an aged bourbon scent. This beard wash makes me feel like a real mountain man out in the wilderness, just with a clean face rather than covered in dirt. Highly recommended and bourbon-lover approved!

With a price this inexpensive, I would honestly say that every guy who is looking to kick up his beard game should try this. Literally everyone.

If you aren’t using a beard wash, get this.

If you are currently looking for a new beard wash, get this.

Braun Body Groomer Series 7 Review: Does It Beat the Competition? (Reviewed by Jason)

The Braun Body Groomer Series 7 (BG7 Models) has a lot of useful features and design attributes that make it one of the better groomers. I found one of the best parts is how it deals with trimming and shaving the more sensitive areas that we guys prefer to protect.

I’m not trying to hard-sell this: it’s not perfect, but it’s versatile, thoughtfully designed in places, and a real contender alongside the Philips Norelco Bodygroom 7000 and the Manscaped Lawnmower Ultra 5.0 I’ve tested and reviewed.

So, to answer the title question — Does it Beat the Competition? In quite a few areas, it does, and absolutely for the intimate areas, it’s the best so far for me!
