The Weekly Grooming Dispatch
Top posts/videos from this week
It's been a busy 2 weeks, so my apologies for no dispatch newsletter last week.
In this grooming dispatch, I have something for:
Guys That Head Shave (video and web reviews)
Traditional Wet Shaving Gents
Bearded Bro's
While I have still been busy on the head-shaving front I managed to get stuck into some traditional wet shaving products (i.e, TOBS pre-shave oil, TOBS shaving cream, shaving bowl, and a Simpson shaving brush).
I have to admit I do enjoy when I get some time using the traditional wet shaving stuff as it is a kind of therapy. I got the Muhle R41 out a few times for an enjoyable revisit.
It's been about videos and website reviews for you guys.
Robert has been somewhat busy with the beard stuff.
Recent Videos
If you dont know, I now shoot video reviews on YouTube (you can see the channel here). Sorry, if I alwreaSorry if I already told you.dy told you.
I got the Brio Raze Haed Shaver video live. This was a letdown, and I can't believe guys rate this shaver. They are more than likely doing it on promotional offers, I guess.
I got the video out there I have wanted to do since I got the channel going on the head shavers for now. I cover the best ones I have used. Only 5 make it to the roundup of choice from around 14 I have tested and used.
The Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood Pre-Shave Oil gave me a lot of scent and improved comfort while reducing irritation. There was little to dislike about this pre-shave, and if you are a fan of Sandalwood–you are already onto a winner!
The Taylor of Old Bond Street Oud Shaving Cream in a tub–I picked up–was just as good at lubricating and as latherable as other TOBS creams I have used. It’s also nicely comforting after the shave. The Oud scent was a terrific, fresh kind of fruity and earthy scent delight
The Muhle Porcelain Shaving Bowl is an elegant-looking piece of lathering kit that features plenty of lathering space and an inner ridge to help build the lather. One concern is that it has no grip, and the potential to drop it becomes apparent.
New Beard and Bald Stuff
We have been a bit quite on the beard stuff whiel Robert has been testing a few products. More will be coming very soon, but we still have a trimmer reviewed.
I've also been trying a new moisturizer taht mattes this balding bonce of mine. That's below!
The Wahl Stainless Steel Lihtium-Ion Beard Trimmer is an excellent example of how small ergonomic tweaks can make a trimmer feel great to use. Unfortunately, it is let down by its lack of a place to grip it and its lack of cutting power.
The Headblade HeadLube Matte Moisturizing Lotion only requires a small amount to apply and soon dries up, leaving a matte effect that lasts a few hours or more. It also moisturizes enough and leaves a cooling effect.
Three Shaving Gels Im Going For The BullDog Hi Gents. I've recently been using cartridge razors quite a lot for reviews on the YouTube channel. This has led to testing out shaving gels, which a lot of guys like to use with multi-blade razors. I hadn't used transparent shave gels for a while, but I loved them many a year ago with a Mach3. So, it's a bit of a revisit for me. The Three Shave Gels Reviewed -- Bulldog Original Shave Gel American Crew Shave Gel King C Gillette Shave Gel 1. BullDog...
Gillette Mach3 vs Mach3 Turbo Plus Head Shaving Hi Gents. Some time ago, I used and reviewed the popular Gillette Mach3 and Mach3 Turbo on shavingadvisor.com. The only thing I found different between these was the Mach3 Turbo was slightly faster (kind of goes along with being named turbo). This is the article here -- Gillette Mach3 vs Mach3 Turbo Mach3 Mach3 Turbo Anyway. I revisited these two razors again and did a side-by-side comparison on YouTube. Again, on this occasion, I did not find...
Proraso Cream vs Proraso Foam Which is Best? Hi Gents. Yeah, it is a bit of a weird one, but when I saw Proraso was available in a canned foam, I wondered how it would compare with the wonderful and popular Proraso in a tube. If you have been wet shaving traditionally for some time, then you'll know all about Proraso shaving cream in a tube. If you don't shave with traditional razors (i.e., safety or straight razors), then the foam in a can by Proraso might be worth trying out. I tested the...
