Three Shaving Gels I Have Tested - So Far

Three Shaving Gels

Im Going For The BullDog

Hi Gents.

I've recently been using cartridge razors quite a lot for reviews on the YouTube channel. This has led to testing out shaving gels, which a lot of guys like to use with multi-blade razors.

I hadn't used transparent shave gels for a while, but I loved them many a year ago with a Mach3. So, it's a bit of a revisit for me.

The Three Shave Gels Reviewed --

1. BullDog

BullDog has won me over so far, and I am on the fourth brand of gels. I am testing another (Bump Control) and will have that live on the web soon.

A tube of Bulldog Original Shave Gel comes as cheap as a decent shave gel can get. I found it pleasant to shave with, and it helped make shaving with a cartridge razor easy and comfortable (what more could you need?).

2. American Crew

American Crew was actually better than the Bulldog in many ways.

American Crew Shave Gel is pricier than many others. However, I do feel like a smaller amount goes a long way. While it does what it needs–in terms of providing glide and preventing irritation–that PVA glue scent was not pleasant.

If the scent were pleasant, this would have been number 1 so far.

3. King C Gillette Shave Gel

King C Gillette has a great scent. Switching the scent to the American Crew would be perfect.

The shave gel from King C Gillette has a good ingredient profile, and the scent is refreshing and will last after the shave. The main negative was it seemed to dry out and become thinner than others I have used recently.

Others Experience These Differently

As always, these are my experiences and things like scents can be subjective. I will be trying more gels, including this quite different Bump Control (review will be live soon) stuff I have.

It is always fun to review this stuff, and if it helps one of you guys find the right product, then that's even better.

Until next time......

Gillette Mach3 vs Mach3 Turbo Plus Head Shaving Hi Gents. Some time ago, I used and reviewed the popular Gillette Mach3 and Mach3 Turbo on shavingadvisor.com. The only thing I found different between these was the Mach3 Turbo was slightly faster (kind of goes along with being named turbo). This is the article here -- Gillette Mach3 vs Mach3 Turbo Mach3 Mach3 Turbo Anyway. I revisited these two razors again and did a side-by-side comparison on YouTube. Again, on this occasion, I did not find...

Proraso Cream vs Proraso Foam Which is Best? Hi Gents. Yeah, it is a bit of a weird one, but when I saw Proraso was available in a canned foam, I wondered how it would compare with the wonderful and popular Proraso in a tube. If you have been wet shaving traditionally for some time, then you'll know all about Proraso shaving cream in a tube. If you don't shave with traditional razors (i.e., safety or straight razors), then the foam in a can by Proraso might be worth trying out. I tested the...

The Weekly Grooming Dispatch Top articles/videos/reviews from this week As mentioned in the last grooming dispatch newsletter--I was going to be getting busy with some traditional wet shaving stuff. A few things are still being used more before they can be reviewed (some products need to be used multiple times before reaching an all-around conclusion). Robert is still in the bearded department, using stuff that hopefully keeps his beard in good shape and healthy. His focus was on Proraso,...
